The Nürburgring has been PURAGLOBE’s home turf since joining with Four Motors to create the CARE FOR CLIMATE racing team. The Green Hell, as the world’s most difficult racetrack is known, consists of the 25.38-kilometer Nordschleife and the short Grand Prix circuit.
The 24 Hours Nürburgring, one of the most venerated events in motor racing, is a competition between the world’s most prestigious car manufacturers, enthusiastically cheered on by 230,000 spectators. It’s a 24-hour fight against fatigue, weather conditions, and more than 160 other cars. Additionally, the Four Motors Bioconcept Cars battle against the fossil-fuel competition.
This time, in June 2019, the team’s Porsche GT3 Cup with drivers Tom von Löwis (team principal), Axel Duffner and Daniel Schellhaas not only won the AT class (alternative fuels), but finished P21 overall. It’s the best result in a 24h race Four Motors has ever had—and a spectacular achievement for a private team. Not to forget the second car: While the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport unfortunately did not reach the finish line, the team around Thomas Kiefer, Denis Dupont, Andreas Patzelt and Hisanao Kurata Kuragon had a very good race—until just after 18 hours in, when a guard rail contact while overtaking ended their hopes. In the hours before, the drivers had fought their way from starting position 71 up to 39.
