In The Wild: Chromjuwelen Motor Öl

The other day we made our debut with our Chromjuwelen Motor Öl. In the wild, at the Oldtimer Park Hamburg. We are still thrilled, to be honest. It is a huge difference to see a ton of your products at one place, after you played around for a long time with a handful of home-made dummies. Wow.

As well we were priviledged to shoot some campaign images at the Prototyp Museum Hamburg, where the "Fetzenflieger" lives — Otto Mathé's famous racecar we are showing on our label. As I wrote before – if you will ever be in Hamburg, make sure to pay the museum a visit. It is gorgeous. And — btw —the Prototyp Museum sells Chromjuwelen Motor Öl ...

The video was shot during the "Street Mag Show Hamburg" and presents some people of our Chromjuwelen Family. Including Helge Thomsen (Motoraver, 1973 "Mad Max" Ford Falcon XB GT), Kris "Kick 'n' Rush" Karathomas (1958 Chevy), Niels-Peter Jensen (Cheezy Rider), Oliver Kaps (Style Deluxe). And — of course — our 1972 "General Tire" International Harvester Scout II.


Beautiful Beast

During our Chromjuwelen En Route video shoot last weekend — see sneak previews above — I had the opportunity to race my Nippon Pontiac for a few meters. Damn, that Poncho kicks *ss. Maybe this is due to the fact the "Kustom City family" worked a little on the setup of my 7M-GTE

At the moment the LeSupra waits to get customized at Style Deluxe Hamburg, but I must admit I start loving the Millenium Falcon "Piece of Junk" style ... 

I want to be Max Rockatansky

I would like to assume that the majority of gearheads, who are nonstop mulling over of how they could modify their jalopy, have one thing in common: They love (post-)apocalyptic movies like Mad Max, Escape from New York (“Die Klapperschlange”), Death Race 2000 or Battletruck.

When I got my first car in the early 90s, a VW Scirocco MK1, the first thing I had to do was to paint it matt black. I didn’t mind it was raining when I painted that car. Au contraire—the pimpled paint was even more authentic in my eyes. And if you know the German police and TÜV, you probably can imagine how much fun it was to drive around in a wannabe Mad Max veedub.

To be honest, I am not sure what exactly went wrong with me, that I am addicted to those life negating and destructive movies. But “I am the last survivor” stories and post-nuke sagas have always inspired me and will ever do. More than that, this interest evolved into a secret code, which helps me identifying soulmates. It simply separates those, who are more interested in polishing their industry standard iron to death from those, who have got enough cojones to start something new.

Why am I telling this? I just flipped through my site referrers and stumbled upon an address: Futuro Finale 2088AD. So, if you love Max Rockatansky or Snake Plissken as much as I do, head over! Futuro Finale 2088AD is a marvelous paradise for the "Last Days".

In the meantime I will call up Mr. Thomsen that he has to pick me up in his Falcon. Now. Or in his Cortina. Or with his Kawa ...

Yes, you're right. It's a 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe. And yes, it'll gonna be Mad Max movie correct, when it'll hit the road. Ladies and Gentleman, it's my great pleasure to introduce the magician behind this awesome project: Helge Thomsen! And—btw—it's a movie correct "Jim Goose" Kawasaki Z1000 as well. Of course.
